Ingredients
3-4 Granny Smith apples, sliced ¼” thin
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup oats
Instructions
Peal (if desired),core and cut apples, add to 10" or 12" cast iron skillet.
Add the cinnamon, and half of the sugar, stir to combine.
Mix oats and remainder of the sugar together, sprinkle on the top of the apple mixture.
Cut cold butter into cubes or slices and sprinkle evenly across the top.
Cook over open fire (or 350* oven for 25 minutes) depending on your heat, it may be necessary to move pan to the edge. Cook until bubbly and the top is golden brown.
Enjoy straight from the skillet or serve in individual bowls with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
